Environmental Policy

GMEC Solutions has a genuine commitment to the environment and strives to reduce the environmental impacts of our activities through out Australia. Like all other aspects of our business, we are committed to the continuous improvement in our environmental duty of care. With the reduction of waste and pollution, compliance with all Environmental Laws/Regulations while continually increasing recycling practices, GMEC strives minimise to the impact to the community in which we operate.

GMEC's waste reduction and recycling practices span the whole scope of our business, from office litter to job waste. We are striving to implement an environmental strategy that is inline with standards outlined in ISO 14001, and are as follows:

  • Conscious reductions in, and the re-use of, office printing paper where applicable. All shredded office paper is recycled, along with any scrap paper that is not re-used.
  • Recycling of all redundant plans, archives, catalogues and other brochures.
  • A mindful effort to utilise email correspondence with customers, suppliers and fellow employees over fax or other hard copy print.
  • Recycling of ALL florescent tubes and lamps replaced or removed by GMEC employees. We are fully aware of the contents of these florescent lamps and their impact on land fills if disposed of in the incorrect manner. They contain elements such as mercury and toxic gas that can potentially contaminate thousands of litres of water or many cubic meters of land and also glass and aluminium that can easier and cheaply be recycled.
  • Re-use and recycling of all wasted, removed or excess electrical and communications cable, both copper and aluminium.
